============================================================================

How I calculate my scores and why (I only gave examples to 10 and 9, since it is quite rare I rate them that high):

10 = Masterpiece (Once Upon a Time in America, Cinema Paradiso, Lady and the Tramp, Rocky, City Lights)
9 = Excellent (12 Angry Men, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, Raging Bull, Cool Hand Luke, Paths of Glory)
8 = Great
7 = Good
6 = Not Bad
5 = So, so
4 = Not Good
3 = Poor
2 = Very Bad
1 = Atrocious

I rate movies for what they tried to achieve… For example, Step Up 2 had great dance choreography and is worthy of a good grade,
simply for its dancing; Speed Racer is ahead of its time, but brilliantly done so; When Did You Last See Your Father is touching,
because it succeeds to play with our emotions and with our senses, even when it’s all brought up so simple. Meanwhile movies like
Untraceable and Street Kings had a good premise, but were overwhelmed with “cliched” ideas by the end of the movie; 27 Dresses is
the perfect example of a very predictable movie that didn’t try hard to be any better than it was. And finally, movies like Funny
Games are useless and depressing; Meet Bill, Emotional Arithmetic and Then She Found Me are empty movies — pointless; Closing
the Ring, 88 Minutes, The Warlords could’ve been worth something, but unfortunately are not even worth my time and effort to recommend.
